Tetracore, Dangote Cement Expand Clean Energy Partnership with New CNG Refuelling Units
Tetracore Energy Group Limited, a leading integrated energy solutions provider, has announced the successful commissioning of Phase 2 of its AutoGas Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) supply network in collaboration with Dangote Cement PLC.
The milestone, disclosed on Tuesday, reinforces both companies’ commitment to advancing clean energy adoption in Nigeria’s industrial and transportation sectors.
As part of this expansion, Tetracore has deployed a mobile AutoGas refuelling unit at the Dangote Cement Plant in Ibese, Ogun State, capable of delivering 50,000 standard cubic metres per day (SCMD) of AutoGas.
This complements the existing 25,000 SCMD supplied by Tetracore’s CNG Mother Station in Atakabo, Ogun State, addressing the rising demand for CNG as a cleaner, more sustainable fuel alternative.
The partnership also includes Tetracore supplying AutoGas to power Dangote Group’s new fleet of CNG-powered trucks, set to be rolled out nationwide at a rate of up to 10,000 vehicles annually.
Fuel for these trucks will be provided directly at the port, ensuring seamless integration into Dangote’s logistics operations.“This commissioning is a significant step toward supporting Nigeria’s gas utilisation initiatives,” said Masud Akajewole, Project Team Lead at Tetracore. “Our partnership with Dangote Cement reflects a shared vision of bridging energy gaps through innovative, sustainable solutions for industrial and transport sectors.”
The expanded CNG supply network is designed to deliver up to 400,000 SCMD, serving both Dangote’s growing fleet and other AutoGas users in the region.
Additionally, a second 50,000 SCMD mobile CNG refuelling unit has been deployed at the Ibese plant to enhance operational flexibility, ensuring a reliable clean energy supply in areas lacking permanent infrastructure.
This development aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and national CNG initiatives aimed at reducing carbon emissions, improving energy access, and driving Nigeria’s transition to sustainable energy sources.
